Itsy Bitsy Butterfly

I asked Ava to sing to me the other day. We were sitting on the mostly finished deck in our swing. Using the front facing camera on my iPhone I managed to capture quite the concert. First I got her version of the ABC song twice. Then I asked for the Itsy Bitsy Spider, then Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and finally Hush Little Baby. It was so adorable.

Here is a small audio clip from the concert. (Yea! I finally figured out how to post audio!) She decided to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider as the Itsy Bitsy Butterfly instead as she explains at the end.

  1. I would so love to hear your clip! I don't see a button or link though.

  2. Sarah-
Are you, by any chance using Safari? I can't see the link on my iPhone, but it works in Chrome, Firefox and in Internet Explorer. At least, it works on my desktop in all three of those browsers.

Can someone else confirm that it is working for them? Or is everyone having trouble?

Thanks! (And Sarah, let me know what browser you're using so I can troubleshoot.)

  3. I'm using Explorer and it is working this afternoon. Hmmm.

She is so adorable and sounds so similar to my little guy. He has been singing happy birthday for the past few weeks. He knows, "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you." He sings that line over and over. He also sings the ABC'S and twinkle twinkle every night and while in his crib. I have always sung those tow songs before he sleeps. Last night my husband tucked him in and came down and said, "I finally figured out the whole tinkle tinkle thing. He wants me to sing Twinkle Twinkle." I just rolled my eyes in a no duh kind of way. Made me laugh. Sarah

  4. Sarah: Sounds so adorable. I love the talking, of course I do, but somehow it is the singing that really makes my heart melt every time.

  5. Thank you, Dala. I would love to hear more from Ava!
My little man has only just begun to sing. He was too bashful before... Now he sings the ABC song in both languages and a couple of German children's songs. I am so proud of him, too! :)

  6. Karin, the singing is so much fun. My children are pretty monolingual. It must be cool to hear him do the ABCs in two languages.
